HLC Collaborates with Cleveland Clinic for the SATURDAY ACADEMY

The Charles R. Drew Saturday Academy is the high school component of the MD Project, an initiative of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's (CCF) Office of Diversity. It is designed to increase the representation of African-American and Hispanic physicians, scientists and physician leaders.

This program in collaboration with the Office of Civic Education Initiatives and Health Legacy of Cleveland supports 30 high school students in the development of the critical skills necessary for
a career in healthcare as a physician or scientist. Identified students evidence aptitude for science and math proficiency as well as those emotional factors that would support successful matriculation through medical school or higher education.

Talented minority high school students from the Greater Cleveland area are targeted as participants in this program that focuses on career information and skills for success.
